Location. Located in Scottsdale, Ariz., the Westin Kierland Resort and Spa is one block from outdoor shopping at the 38 acre Kirkland Commons. The Scottsdale Center for the Arts is two miles away, and the hotel is four miles from Rawhide Western Town.

Hotel Features. The resort features Kierland Golf Club, offering air conditioned golf carts, a covered driving range and 27 greens. The resort's 8,000 square foot water park includes a 110 foot water slide, 900 foot long flowing river and two desert waterfalls. At Agave, The Arizona Spa, trained specialists deliver signature treatments that utilize the indigenous moisture nourishing Agave plant. Agave also features a full service salon, a boutique, a movement studio, whirlpool, sauna, steam room and weight training/cardiovascular studio. The fitness center at the hotel was designed by Reebok and includes 20 , 40 or 60 minute workout plans. The hotel offers six restaurants and bars and a complimentary wine reception in the evenings at Deseo Restaurant. Menu choices feature Latin cuisine including empanadas and grilled meats with chimichurri sauces. Specialty cocktails, premium tequilas and a large selection of wines are served at The Rim across from the Ali Shonak library. There, views of Dreamweaver Canyon accompany the sounds of steel drums and marimba every weekend.

Guestrooms. Accommodations at the Westin Kierland Resort and Spa feature Westin Heavenly Beds with custom designed pillowtop mattresses, 230 thread count, 100 percent cotton sheets, a comforter and a white duvet. Five goose down or feather down pillows and bolster pillows are also included. Furnished balconies provide views of either the golf course or the desert mountains. Bathroom amenities feature dual showerheads, waffle weave bathrobes and Brazilian combed cotton bath towels. Cable television, game consoles and Web TV are complimentary. Select rooms feature in room treadmills, yoga mats, resistance tubes, balls, local running maps and workout DVDs. All rooms include in room Yogilates routines found on the hotel's television channel.

Expert Tip.The resort's 15,000 square foot spa features 20 treatment rooms, including one for couples. For teens, the Agave Spa offers the Never Too Soon Teen facial to teach young adults the importance of a great skincare regiment.
